Musky hunts begin first and foremost with positive musky attitude. The fish of 10,000 casts requires patience, attention and willpower. Your guide will work with you in the days prior to your trip on a game plan, launch location, and start time. Moon phases and windows generally spike musky activity and your trip start will try to allow for between 2 and 3 feeding windows while fishing.
Once on the water a mix of casting and trolling will be used to effectively target fish. These trips are longer than your normal guided experiences to give anglers the best chance at a fish. It is possible you may lake hop if fishing is tough as the NJ/NY Lakes we fish are located close together much like the housatonic river chain of lakes we fish in CT.
Two and Three day trips are recommended for musky as it increases your chances considerably on boating multiple of the most impressive freshwater predator in north america.
