Chuck Read

Chuck has been chasing esox around the northeast and into Canada for over 10 years. As a member of the Lake Lillinonah Authority, he runs the stocking for the tiger musky program with added help from the state of Connecticut’s DEEP.  Fishing predominantly the 3 lakes of the Housatonic River- Lillinonah, Zoar, and Lake Housatonic, he targets trophy pike and the tiger musky he loves so much.

Chuck has used his abundance of time and experience on Lake Lillinonah to develop crossover techniques for targeting pike and tiger musky, learned from fishing pure strain musky. Lake Lillinonah is a perfect sanctuary/environment for trophy pike and tigers to flourish.

Pure muskelunge are also a passion of his and he regularly fishes Greenwood Lake and some other areas of NY and New Jersey with multiple yearly trips upstate or to Canada to hone his skills. Chattaqua Lake, NY, and Canada’s Georgian Bay, Ottawa River, and St. Lawrence Seaway are some of his favorite places to target them.

He fishes out of a 17’ deep v Alumacraft Voyager 90hp with a bimini enclosure for the tough weather days. Trolling, casting and even live bait are all techniques used to give anglers the best chance at the trophy pike and tiger musky the Housatonic chain of lakes has to offer.
